Walt began his career as an underwater photographer and water-sports photojournalist in 1985.
Knowledgeable in boating, sport fishing, diving and marine natural history, Walt has held the honor of working with a broad list of publications as a feature writer, photographer, and columnist. This roster includes SaltWater Sportsman, Sport Fishing, Marlin, Field & Stream, Saltwater Fly Fishing, Fishing World, Men’s Health, Men’s Journal, Outdoor Photographer, Caribbean Travel & Life, Florida Travel & Life, Islands Magazines, Boating, Boating Life, Motor Boating and Power Cruising. Walt’s photography and writing are most recognized from past feature articles published in a number of dive magazines from Discover Diving, Ocean Realm, Scuba Times, Scuba Diving, Sport Diver and Skin Diver, where became a highly active contributing editor between 1995 and 2000.
Currently Walt oversees his own blog site, UnderwaterJournal.com, as well as serves Scuba Diver Magazine as Editor for the North American publication. Scuba Diver is perhaps the widely published dive magazines in the world with print editions in the UK, Australia/New Zealand and North America.
Through his company Ocean Arts, Inc., Walt with his wife Karen, who oversees the marketing initiatives and campaigns for Wakatobi Dive Resort, also handle a number of content creation work for a select list of clients in the form of web and blog site work, to ad creation for print publications from magazine, brochures and catalogs.
Walt’s editorial, photographic, and design skills are present Wakatobi Dive Resort, Palm Beach County Diving Association, Caradonna Dive Adventures to Mystery Author Charles Todd.
