Created and incorporated in 1984 by Walt Stearns, Ocean Arts, Inc. began as a provider for photographic services. Today, Ocean Arts, Inc. is more than just about photography, it is also about design and content creation, as well as providing marketing services.
Walt Stearns’ photographic and editorial skills are augmented by a solid working knowledge of art and graphic design, and the expertise needed to render a final product for print or web placement. Whether that project is as small as a 300 x 250 animated gif for web placement, a full website, or print materials such as magazine advertising, brochures or catalogs, Walt can take it from conception (design, layout, art/photo selection and placement, editing, etc.) to completion.
Walt’s wife and business partner, Karen Stearns, is a veteran marketing and communications professional with more than three decades of experience in the areas of branding initiatives that include print and digital advertising, social media campaigns, internal communications and public relations, and the planning and execution of live events including trade shows. If you have heard of Wakatobi Dive Resort, then you can tip your hat to Karen, as she has served as the resort’s marketing and media relations manager for the past 10 years.
Ocean Arts, Inc. takes a personalized approach with their clients. As anyone in business knows, good content is king. Originally produced content is key for driving the proper focus and branding of a specific destination, activity, resort property and/or operation, or lifestyle. But what is equally important when creating a series of initiatives for branding and marketing is that the agents carrying it out develop a proper understanding of the product, and what markets should be targeted. This approach requires a more proactive position from the creation team, but it is critical to successfully controlling the narrative and delivering the desired outcome.
